New DataGerry Release: IPAM, AI-Powered Document Generator & Integrated License Management

With our latest DataGerry release, we’re expanding the CMDB with powerful new features while also improving the capabilities for managing modern IT infrastructures.

This release focuses on the new IP Address Management (IPAM), the AI-powered Document Generator, and the new license management for self-hosted installations.

Alongside this release, we are launching the new DataGerry Self-Hosted Edition. We’ve already explained why we’re taking this step and what will change—or, more precisely, what will deliberately remain the same—for the open-source community in our post announcing the launch of DataGerry Self-Hosted . Going forward, the commercial editions will be managed and activated via our new Service Portal, which serves as the central platform for DataGerry Services.

Here is an overview of the most important changes:

IP Address Management (IPAM): Centralized Management of Network Structures

With IPAM, DataGerry is expanding its capabilities in the area of infrastructure documentation.

Networks, subnets, and VLANs can now be systematically recorded and managed directly within the CMDB. This provides a centralized overview of the existing network infrastructure and its dependencies.

Key features:

  • Management of Supernets and Subnets
  • Documentation of VLAN Structures
  • Structured Representation of IP Ranges
  • Improved Transparency Regarding Network Resources

By integrating into the existing CMDB structure, network information is available directly in the context of other configuration items.

AI-Powered Document Generator & PDF Reporting

Creating and maintaining IT documentation is one of the core functions of a CMDB.

With its enhanced Document Generator, DataGerry enables the automated creation of professional documents based on existing CMDB data.

In this process, configuration items, relationships, and attributes can be automatically converted into structured documents.

Typical use cases:

  • System and Infrastructure Documentation
  • Compliance and Audit Reports
  • Handover Documentation

Support for AI-powered features significantly reduces the effort required to create and update documentation.

New License Management for the Self-Hosted Edition

With the expansion of our self-hosted offering, we are introducing a new licensing management system directly within DataGerry.

This makes it easy to activate and manage commercial editions.

Administrators are provided with a clear overview of:

  • Active License Information
  • License Status
  • Features Available in the Edition Being Used

License management is integrated directly into DataGerry, making it easy to manage the new self-hosted editions.

New Subscription Model

Until now, the self-hosted version of DataGerry has been available for free with full functionality.

With this new model, we are expanding our product lineup to include additional editions that differ in terms of their feature sets.

In addition to the Community Edition, which is still available, there are other self-hosted versions with additional features.

This allows companies to choose the DataGerry edition that best suits their needs—ranging from free use to advanced enterprise scenarios.

More Options for a Modern CMDB

With this release, DataGerry continues to evolve:

  • Integrated IP Address Management
  • Automated Documentation with AI Support
  • New License Management for Self-Hosted Installations
  • Greater Flexibility Through New Editions
  • Enhanced Capabilities for Infrastructure and Compliance Documentation

With these enhancements, we are strengthening DataGerry as the central platform for IT documentation, infrastructure management, and modern CMDB requirements.

We’d love to hear your feedback as you try out the new features.

You can find a detailed overview of all changes in the complete changelog in our documentation.

Thank you so much for being part of our journey!
